If we do something with the starting point of not expecting to achieve anything from it; does this make us mad or enlightened?
Think about sleeping, the more we try to get to sleep the more sleep eludes us. It is only when we have accepted that maybe we can’t sleep and stopped trying so hard that we can ‘let go’ and ironically when we have stopped trying so hard, sleep comes.
Try it for yourself, you have a hundred different things to do so you rush around trying very hard to do them all at once. But notice how your body is and how your mind feels and if you are breathing freely. If our minds are full of what we have just done and ALL that is still to be achieved and we can feel tense, crowded and overwhelmed. Okay, pause, breathe, allow your muscles to relax, stop trying so hard and take one job at a time and stay present. Chances are things feel better, the number of jobs hasn’t changed but you have.
Looks like Basil – mmmm love it!
